What if a field user visits a client that was planned, but starts a new visit?

The new visit takes over the plan, so the client is counted once and the beat shows it as visited.

Are beats planned on leave days?

No. Weekly offs, company or city holidays and approved full-day leave are skipped.

Can a beat be changed during the day?

Yes. Saving the beat updates the visits for today that have not started yet.
